Now we are in the homestretch. Only 5 more school days until we bid farewell to Room 7. Our new room number will be 133. We will be on the main floor in our new school home.
This will also be the last post until we resume after the February break. Please read fully for important information.
Circle words: "he" "she"
Students began new jobs as well.
Writing: we worked on word families "an" and "ad" and continued with rhyming sounds, and editing our work so other people can read it. Students continue to write and illustrate stories, as well as show their independence in doing so.
Reading: Students continued to book shop and try new, bigger books. They practiced their super powers and are proudly learning new words.
We read a lot of stories about 100 days of school and stories to practice rhyming.
We did some energizers from GoNoodle and Jack Hartman too!
Math: Continued our stations that focus on numbers 0-100. The kiddos had a lot of fun and have even displayed some of their work in the hallway.
Motion Emotions: students listened to the story No matter who you are, everyone is welcome.
Superflex Academy: Mrs. Coker read a story about tattling called Tattle Tongue.
Week of February 10th-14th
Circle word "love"
Review of beginning and ending sounds in words.
We will continue our learning in reading, writing and math, and have a lot of other fun things planned.
Students will create their self-portraits for our new classroom, play literacy games with Mrs. Delande's 4th grade class, create a Valentine's day craft with parents, adventure on a winter big backyard walk, participate in the last ASM at this school, distribute valentines to their classmates and visit the new school. Phew!!
Please remember to have your child bring in a cereal box wrapped in tinfoil by Friday. If they want to hand out valentines, please have one for each student and remember their book buddies too! No candy please.
I will also be sending home all of their spare clothing, and rest blankets on Thursday.
When they return to school, please send them in with weather appropriate spare clothes in a ziploc bag to keep in their lockers, as well as anything they want for rest time. Our new lockers are narrow. Please try to send in a small blanket/pillow for rest that can stay at school. Some students are bringing them back and forth daily and it is hard to fit into their backpacks.
Looking forward to all of the new learning and experiences in our AMAZING new Maria Hastings School!
